KWATRAIN (ORIGIN OF MY NAME)

One of the most common questions I am asked is how did you get the name Kwatrain. So here it is in detail; I began rapping, recording & writing lyrics when I was 13 years old. I used to breakdance & had several breakdance names, one of the most memorable was Wave-A-Tron. Soon breakdancing began being commercialised & there was noone left to dance against, so I immediatly began rapping & recording. I went through several stage names, Master C, E.S.P. Rashid Talid & many others, I was most known as Chilli C. I noticed many people using the Chilli as part of their name so wanting to keep my originality & not be confused with anyone else, I was always looking for ways to re-invent myself. I wanted to make a name that would last forever & me not have to change my name anymore. So after thinking quite thoroughly, I noticed the word quatrain in the dictionary defined as a stanza of 4 lines in poetry. This struck me because it had to do with the mathmatics of music, which most music is written on an 8 scale. And to write a song you must write in compliance with this law. This meant something to me, beacuse growing up, my father often talked of Nostradamous. Nostradamous changed the language he was writing in every quatrain to conceal his teaching so that he would not be killed for being a Witch. So I created a play on words by changing the spelling of quatrain to Kwatrain & created an acronym out of it to give it even more meaning, and to keep my originality & never to be confused with anyone else.
